ABOUT OUR FILES
A DST file (Tajima Embroidery Format) is one of the most widely used embroidery file formats in the world. It contains the exact stitch-by-stitch instructions your embroidery machine needs to recreate a design on fabric including stitch coordinates, jump stitches, and colour change commands. It's the industry standard format and is accepted by nearly all commercial and home embroidery machines, which is why it's the format we sell by default.
Our files are listed as DST by default, but we can provide other formats on request including PES (Brother/Babylock), JEF (Janome), HUS (Husqvarna Viking), EXP (Melco), XXX (Singer), and VP3 (Pfaff). Just contact us before purchase with your machine brand and we'll send the right format your way.
Every file is machine-ready straight out of the download. You don't need any embroidery software, just load the file onto your machine via flash drive, USB or card, hoop your fabric, and stitch. If you want to resize a design before stitching, you can do that in software like Wilcom, Hatch, or Brother PE-Design, or reach out to us.
DST files don't store colour data this is a limitation of the format itself. Your machine will pause at each colour change point and wait for you to swap threads manually. We include a colour sequence guide with every purchase so you know exactly which thread colour goes where.
MACHINE COMPATIBILITY
Our DST files work with the vast majority of embroidery machines including Brother, Janome, Bernina, Singer, Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff, Elna, Babylock, and most Tajima commercial machines. If your machine uses a different native format, many machines can still read DST directly check your manual. If not, just request your specific format and we'll sort it out.
Yes. Our DST files are optimized for both home and commercial machines. Because DST is the Tajima format, it's actually the native language of most commercial single and multi-head machines, so compatibility is excellent.
Each design listing includes the stitch dimensions in millimeters so you can match it to your hoop. As a general guide: small designs under 80mm fit a 4x4 hoop, medium designs between 80–130mm fit a 5x7 hoop, and large designs above 130mm need a 6x10 or larger hoop. If you're unsure, message us with your machine's hoop size and we'll confirm.
BUYING & DOWNLOADING
As soon as your payment is confirmed, you'll receive an email with a download link. You can also access your files anytime from your account dashboard under "My Orders." Downloads come as a .zip file, just extract it and you'll find the DST file and colour guide inside.
Files in your account after purchase can be downloaded for five (5) consecutive times across 6 months and after that, it expires due to cache storage.
Yes. All our designs come with a commercial use license, meaning you can use them to produce and sell embroidered items, Agbada, Flaps, and more without paying royalties. The only thing not permitted is reselling or redistributing the digital file itself to other people.
Because embroidery files are digital downloads, we generally can't offer refunds once a file has been downloaded. That said, if there's a genuine issue like the file won't open, it's the wrong format, or there's a design defect, contact us and we'll make it right, whether that's a corrected file or a refund.
CUSTOM ORDERS
Absolutely. Whether it's a logo, text, monogram, sports crest, or brand graphic, we can turn it into a stitch-ready embroidery file. Send us your image along with your desired size and format and we'll send you a quote. Most custom orders are turned around within 24–48 hours.
The cleaner the better. Vector files (SVG, AI, EPS) are ideal. High-resolution PNG or JPG at least 300dpi on a plain background works well too. PDF is also fine, especially for logos. Send us what you have and we'll tell you honestly what's achievable.
Pricing depends on the complexity of the design and the number of stitches. Simple text or logos start at a lower rate, while detailed multi-colour artwork is priced higher. We'll always give you a clear quote upfront before any work begins no hidden fees.
TECHNICAL HELP
This usually happens for one of three reasons: your machine uses a different native format (contact us and we'll send the right one), the file wasn't fully extracted from the .zip before transferring, or a transfer error occurred. Try re-downloading and copying to a freshly formatted USB drive. If none of that works, message us with your machine brand and model and we'll troubleshoot it with you.
Yes, but with caution. Resizing within ±20% of the original usually gives clean results. Going beyond that, especially making a design much smaller can cause stitches to bunch up and the design to lose quality. If you need a very different size to what's listed, it's better to contact us for a properly sized version.
